“Faoileánach” (pronounced “fwee-lan-ach”) is an Irish phrase meaning “where the seagulls gather” and is the heart and soul of our journal. We are a gathering place, a jumping-off point, and a place for free-form flight. The Faoileánach Journal’s mission is to publish writers who have not yet had the chance to be published. We aim to champion new creativity.

The Faoileánach Journal is a quarterly online literary journal that accepts poetry, short fiction, creative nonfiction, and nonfiction. Submissions are capped at the first 50 received. Each issue is themed. You can visit our Issues page to learn more about each quarter’s theme.
